The Summer Event Edit with Violet Grace

This holiday season, our design team has worked hard to create statement wardrobe styles that lend a sophisticated, celebratory feel to summer events, with a versatility to ensure they can be worn with joy for years to come.

Using luxurious natural fibres such as linen and silk, designs are finished with bold ruffles, ruching and subtle fastening details in a summer palette of crisp white and fuchsia.

Here, stylist and creative Violet Grace shares the investment pieces you'll want to wear for this holiday season and many more.

“The holiday season is a fanfare of soirees, reunions and celebrations with loved ones, colleagues and family. And with a huge amount of social engagements comes the requirement to throw together more effortless, chic looks in a short amount of time.

Cue the perfect wardrobe, or as I like to call it, ‘the social wardrobe’. This is a collection of pieces that can be mixed and matched for a multitude of looks, with a few standalone pieces that can be thrown on for immediate impact. Here are my top Country Road picks for the summer season ahead.”

The Gathered Maxi Dress

“I adore the Grecian-feel of this maxi dress. The voluminous skirt and flow of the fabric packs a punch and is a worthy addition to any event season wardrobe.”

The Classic White Midi Dress

“I love this piece because it is equally sweet with the puffy sleeve while also having some more sophisticated elements with corset detailing down the front. This dress can easily go from a more relaxed affair to a cocktail function by simply swapping the flats for a heel.”

The Statement Set

“I love the versatility of this set, which is actually a one-piece swimsuit and skirt. While the pink-on-pink lends a dressier feel to this outfit, the one-piece would look equally at home with some denim jeans or a mini skirt.”

The Column Maxi Skirt

“A monochromatic white look is a shortcut to looking ultra-chic and modern. Plus, this skirt has pockets which is always an added bonus.”
