We want to redefine the retail experience through state-of-the-art stores that allow our community to explore, learn and discover.

In August 2019, we opened our first 5 Star Green Star interior certified store at Chadstone, which is certified by the Green Building Council of Australia.

The Green Building Council assesses the sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings through an internationally recognised rating system.

A 5 Star Rating indicates Australian Excellence in building healthy, environmentally responsible spaces.

Chadstone was the first fashion retail 5 Star Green Star interior certified store in Australia, marking an important milestone for Country Road and the Australian fashion retail industry.

To achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating, a build must obtain at least 60 points from the Green Building Council. Points are awarded based on factors such as energy efficiency and off-site renewables, waste reduction, improving indoor environments, driving innovation in the retail industry and more.

Since the launch of Chadstone, weve opened over 15 stores across Australia and New Zealand that target a Green Star rating, with more to come. Our store openings follow the 2015 launch of our 5 Star Green Star rated Omni Fulfilment Centre in Truganina. This centre incorporates a number of features like solar panels, natural lighting and rainwater harvesting.

These stores have been awarded a 5 Star Green Star rating with the Green Building Council.

Targeting 5 Star Green Star

These stores have applied for certification through the Green Building Council. It can take up to 12 months to achieve a Green Star rating.
