Meet The Maker: Ireland's Baird McNutt
When it comes to linen, Baird McNutt is renowned for producing some of the finest in the world. The fourth generation Irish mill is defined by tradition and pride themselves in using techniques that date back over 100 years. Here, we travel to Ireland to chat with Brian Copeland of Baird McNutt to learn a little more about our collaboration with the mill.
The Baird McNutt mill is a result of the Baird clan forming with the McNutt clan over one hundred years ago, how exactly did this come about and what makes the relationship so special?
"The Baird family business was founded in 1912 and the McNutt in the mid 1950s. In 1992 the two joined forces to establish Baird McNutt. The relationship brought together the Baird’s expertise in crafting premium quality fabrications and the McNutt’s unique and innovative design capabilities. This relationship has allowed Baird McNutt to establish its prestigious position as one of the finest linen mills in the world."

How does the history still play an important role now?
"As a fourth generation family business Baird McNutt is defined by tradition. Today James Baird still provides the commercial drive and Peter McNutt is responsible for the unique designs that define Baird McNutt."
How would you describe your linen?
